Firestorm Pairing Session 2 - Josh Adams and Claudio Ortolina Building a Subreddit Word Counter with Flow [01.27.2017]

I paired with Claudio Ortolina for 2 hours today to play with Flow for the first time. We ended up building this project that will stream through a given subreddit and count words in titles. I've attached the video, but you can also watch it on Twitch as we live-streamed there (and I'm planning on doing that more).

But there's bad news - I tested capturing a pair's audio with Skype, but we switched to ScreenHero for better pairing. Apparently, something in my OBS profile didn't get saved. It was my first time using OBS, and I checked to make sure he was coming through in the recording but apparently got a false-positive. Consequently - you can't hear him at all :(

The only positive thing that comes out of this failure is the realization that Claudio's audio is fun to say.

The code is hopefully interesting, but you miss out on interesting conversation and instead just listen to me have one-half of a conversation. Not ideal! We're going to pair next week (hopefully) to add some supervision to it and maybe a bit of visualization. I'll make sure it's better there.

Check out the repo for the code - hopefully at least that is valuable in spite of the audio goof-up.

See you soon!

Josh

(who is Very Bad at live streaming on Twitch his first time)
