HTML & CSS are fundamental building blocks of the internet. Virtually all web
pages and web applications use them to present and style their information.
Their standards are set forth by the W3C, an
international community of experts on the internet. A great starting place is to
read the W3's intro to HTML & CSS
While working with these technologies, you'll often need a reference to look up
elements, attributes, and keywords. The Mozilla Developer Network is great for
this, and their HTML
& CSS references
are unmatched in quality.
Over the next few weeks we'll look at the basics of HTML and CSS before moving
into more advanced usage. If you are a an experienced developer, you may want to
skip to week 2 or 3.
